Appointments

In order for your treatment to stay on schedule, your appliances must be monitored every few weeks. Sometimes major changes are required in the appliance, requiring a long appointment; sometimes all that is needed is a nudge here and there, requiring a relatively short appointment.

Your time is valuable. That’s why we have carefully crafted our appointment scheduling, working around school and work hours as much as possible. To this end, we will schedule longer appointments during school and work hours and shorter appointments before and after school and work. This way, we get to see as many patients as possible with short appointments in the early mornings and afternoons. In general, the overwhelming majority of appointments during orthodontic treatment are shorter appointments. During the school year, we do offer Saturday appointments for your convenience.

Because we accommodate as many appointments as possible outside of school and work hours, it’s especially important to make it to your appointment on time! We understand that sometimes things just happen. In that case, we will have to reschedule the appointment (unless there is an opening in the schedule we had not expected). Since you will need a new appointment as close to the original appointment as possible, and since the after-school and work hours appointments are scheduled several weeks in advance, it will probably be necessary to reschedule the missed appointment during the middle of the day when appointment times are more flexible.

If a wire bends, a bracket comes loose, a retainer breaks, or if any other damage occurs to your devices, it is important to correct these problems promptly. This will usually require a special appointment. Contact us, and we will get you in as soon as possible to correct the problem.
